Razer is officially bringing the 2020 models of the Blade 15 and Blade 17 Pro gaming laptops into Malaysia, after much anticipation. As always, both gaming laptops feature top-tier hardware and Razer’s own design and features thrown in.
Starting with the Razer 15, its hardware includes either a 10th generation Intel Core i7-10750H or Core i7-10875H, both with the ability to run at a boost clock of 5GHz and 5.1GHz, respectively. Additionally, the machine also ships out with 16GB DDR4-2933MHz RAM, but can be upgraded to 64GB. In terms of GPU, the baseline model features an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, while the top-of-the-line model has an RTX 2080 Super Max-Q.
For storage, the Blade 15 starts with a 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD with a free M.2 slot for future expansion. However, it should be noted that the highest range of the laptop does ship out with 1TB. As for its 15.6-inch display, Razer is offering two high refresh rate panel options at Full HD resolution: the first 144Hz with 100% sRGB, and a 300Hz IPS-type display with the same 100% sRGB rating.
Alternatively, there is also a 4K OLED panel option with a 1ms response time and 100% DCI-P3 rate, and that can either be touch or non-touch. The latter only being available to the highest-end Blade 15 Advanced model.
Other specifications include a new per-key Chroma RGB keyboard layout, a Thunderbolt 3 port that supports USB-C charging, an SDCard reader, two USB 3.2 Gen2 ports, another USB-C 3.2 Gen2 port, and an HDMI 2.0b output port.
Price-wise, the Razer Blade 15 starts from RM8999 for the baseline SKU, and caps at RM16499 for the top of the line variant.
Next on the list is the Blade Pro 17, Razer’s highest-end gaming laptop. It features a large 17.3-inch Full HD NT panel, capable of running at a maximum refresh rate of 300Hz. Beneath the hood, this machine runs on a 10th generation Intel Core i7-10875H, 16GB of dual-channel DDR4-2933MHz RAM, up to 1TB of NVMe SSD storage, and a choice between an RTX 2070 Max-Q and RTX 2080 Super Max-Q.
Other details include an updated keyboard with per-key Chroma backlighting, Dolby Atmos support, and the standard fare of ports on both sides of the laptop. That includes a full-size LAN port, 3.5mm audio jack combo, and support for USB-C charging via the Thunderbolt 3 port.
Pricing for the Blade Pro 17 starts from RM12499 for the baseline model, while the highest specced version of the laptop will retail for RM15999. As mentioned, both the Razer Blade 15 and Blade Pro 17 are already available in Malaysia via authorised dealers and resellers.
