If you’ve tried using the Maybank App or visiting the Maybank2u website, there’s a chance that you may not be able to log in. If this applies to you, then you are not alone, as the bank is currently facing intermittent issues with both the app and the website.
Judging from the official Maybank Facebook page, the bulk of complaints by users started coming in about noon. A number of users say that they are unable to make transactions or access their transaction history. Others are not even able to log into their accounts via the app.

At the time of writing, Maybank has said that it is looking into the issue. That said, the bank did not provide details as to what exactly is the nature of the problem, nor did it provide a time frame in which it expects to complete the fixing process.
The outage can probably be explained by increased traffic to the service. After all, today is the payday for government servants. There’s also the payout for Bantuan Prihatin Nasional (BPN), which is scheduled to happen in stages starting today. And hopefully that’s the extent of the issue. We’ll let you know once we find out more.
