Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice won the Game of the Year award last year. A fact that developer FromSoftware would like to remind everyone with the new GOTY Update for the game. But of course, it’s a pretty substantial update since that’s what it’s calling the update.
This GOTY update for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice sees two new features added to the Sculptor Idol. One is called the Reflections of Strength, which allows you to face any boss you’ve defeated before. And then there’s the Gauntlets of Strength, which is essentially a boss rush mode.
Beyond the two boss modes, the update will also add three outfits for the Wolf. Two of them are unlocked via the Gauntlets, while the third is unlocked by beating the game once. These are purely cosmetic though, so unlike in the Souls series, there’s no drawback to making the Wolf look a specific way.
And finally, the update will also see ghosts being added to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Officially called remnants, this allows players to leave 30-second recordings as a written message, much like those you see in a Souls game. By watching and rating a remnant, players also get to recover their health for free.
The Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice GOTY Update will be made available on 29 October. Incidentally, this is also when the game will be available on Google Stadia.
