Cinema chain GSC has thought of a pretty wild idea to make use of its big screens while movies are going slow. And that’s renting it out to gamers.
The idea is simple, if a little wild. You can basically rent out an entire cinema hall for three hours, and during that three hours you’re free to play the game in the hall with your friends as if you’re watching a movie. The idea is similar to the Private Screen auditoriums in the Aurum Theatre at GSC The Gardens Mall.
Of course, doing this comes at a pretty price. Just renting a cinema hall costs RM188 for the three hours. And if you wish to extend your time like you would in a karaoke place, GSC lets you do so for RM70 an hour.
Alternatively, if you really want to make a big party out of this, you can pay RM250 for the first three hours to also get some munchies like popcorn to go with it. GSC says these are worth up to RM75, and it is also throwing in RM200 F&B vouchers on top of that. But going for this, pushes the hour extension price up to RM100.
As for which cinemas you can actually do this with, GSC says this is available at its Queensbay Mall, Ipoh Parade, AEON Bandaraya Melaka and Paradigm Mall Johor outlets. The company will be making more locations available in time, but this entire thing will only last until 31 December.
