One advantage that esports has during a time like a global pandemic is that their tourneys can be held online. And one has just been announced, called the E1 Championship. It was jointly announced by Astro’s eGG Network and Axle Sports.
The E1 Championship is an online racing series that will make use of the RaceRoom racing sim. The overall championship features a prize pool of US$15000 (~RM49818), with the top spot taking US$5000.
Season Zero of the E1 Championship is set to officially start in November 2020. Races take place every Wednesday night from 18 November until 13 January 2021. Participants will have to register in teams of two, with slots for a total of 12 teams. There’s also an entry fee, but the exact amount is yet to be decided. Participating teams will also be able to customise car liveries to include sponsor logos, for those who are joining as professionals.
Naturally, for those who prefer to watch instead of race, you can catch each event live on eGG Network. The network will be covering all of the races live. But before that, if you want to know more about the E1 Championship, you can visit its dedicated web page, linked below.
