OnePlus officially lifted the veil from its self-titled OnePlus 8T yesterday, along with the phone’s launch dates for both its US and EU markets. Today, the smartphone brand has revealed the official launch date of the new flagship for our market.
Based on the brand’s postings on its social media platforms, the OnePlus 8T will be launching in Malaysia at midnight of 22 October. The teaser posters, unfortunately, do not contain any information about its official SRP, a crucial detail that the brand will undoubtedly announce on the day itself. Considering that the base model of the phone has a price just below the RM3000 mark, many are speculating that OnePlus could start selling the OnePlus 8T at a similar starting price as well.
The OnePlus 8T is considered an update to the original OnePlus 8 that launched earlier this year, sporting some new and improved features, including a new tool for its Game Space Mode and the ability to run Fortnite at 90 fps.
Specs-wise, the OnePlus 8T employs a new 6.55-inches 120Hz flat display, with support for HDR10+ and DisplayMate A+ rating. Beneath the hood, the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 865 SoC, up to 12GB RAM, a choice of 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage, and a 4500mAh dual battery that supports OnePlus’ new Warp Charge 65. As for its main camera, it gets an additional Monochrome sensor while still retaining the same camera sensors that were first introduced with the OnePlus 8.
