Sega is celebrating its 60th anniversary this month. And it is doing so in quite the generous way on Steam. The publisher is giving away a number of free games, with new ones every day or so until 18 October.
First up is Sonic The Hedgehog 2, which Sega is giving away from 9 to 18 October. Claim it within this time window and it is yours to keep forever. While not games, the publisher is also giving away free DLC. Specifically, the Battle for Kawagoe map for Total War: Shogun 2 is now free, as is the Sea 60th Items pack for Two Point Hospital.
And then there a few games that Sega made just for this 60th anniversary celebration. One is called Armor of Heroes, featuring retro-style tank battles with a modern twist, available from 15 to 19 October. Then there’s Endless Zone, a side-scrolling plane shooter which will be made available between 16 and 19 October.
Probably the most interesting of them all is Streets of Kamurocho, which lets you play as Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima in a Streets of Rage style beat ’em up. You can claim this between 17 and 19 October. And finally, there’s Golden Axed, a build of an axed project called Golden Axe: Reborn that you can claim between 18 and 19 October.
Steam will also add a few Sega-related items to your inventory like the 60th anniversary background. Of course, the celebration includes other games being sold at massive discounts.
