The list of PS4 games that are incompatible with the PS5 just got shorter. Game publisher Nacon has announced that it will be working with KT Racing to make their game, TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2, compatible with the PS5. This comes shortly after another dev, Mad Triangles, announced the same for their game DWVR.
Though no details were provided, a Nacon rep said that they are working on an update to make TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2 “100% functional” on the PS5. There’s also the question of if the patch will make it in time for the launch of the console which, depending on the market, will be either 12 or 19 November.
With this development, this brings the number of PS4 games incompatible with the next gen console down to eight. While it’s a good sign that the number can be reduced, it won’t unfortunately be zero. Another game, Shadwen, will never make it to PS5.
According to its devs at Frozenbyte, Shadwen is running on an old version of the engine the devs are using. And for them, working on a patch in such a situation for a game that’s no longer getting any updates is more trouble than it’s worth.
