WhatsApp is introducing a new user interface for the Storage Usage section of its app, according to a report from WABetaInfo. For those who aren’t familiar with it, this particular feature provides insights to users on the type of files that come from their WhatsApp conversations as well as how much storage space that they have occupied.
With the current Storage UI on WhatsApp, users have grown accustomed to seeing simple numerical figures describing the amount of storage left within their respective accounts. However, the latest update here brings together better visual cues.
As shown in the screenshot above, the new Storage Usage UI features a bar which indicates the current storage usage much clearer. Situated below the bar is a Suggested clean up section that users can use to remove unwanted data stored within their WhatsApp account.
In addition to this, the UI also displays a list of chats that are heavily accumulating storage which thankfully can be manually deleted if users wish to do so. WABetaInfo stated that the new UI is being rolled out to WhatsApp beta users on Android devices via app version 2.20.201.9.
However, the rollout status for beta users on iOS is yet known for the time being. Similarly, this also applies to UI’s availability for the general public.
