The look of the DualSense controller was never really a secret. After all, it was revealed way before the PlayStation 5 itself was shown to the world. But as it turns out, controller has one fine detail that we’ve not noticed. Until now, as Argentinian peripheral maker Evzen shared their teardown of the controller on Instagram.
The detail in question is the scattering of the four PlayStation shapes around the DualSense controller. While not exactly visible from any other image, Evzen says these are found on the controller grips. While not using the PlayStation face button shapes, the thumb sticks are also textured for better grip when they are in use.
The very last image on the post shows the DualSense controller torn down to its components. If you’ve seen the inside of the DualShock 4 before, then you’ll see a number of key differences between them. One is the obviously larger board. The other is the fact that the triggers have boards of their own, perhaps owing to the complexity of the adaptive trigger tech.
Other details on the DualSense include the clear and colourless face buttons with the greyscale icons. Though these were not particularly hidden in the controller’s previous appearances. The images are not of the best quality, but you can take a look for yourself via Evzen’s Instagram post.
