Google has its cloud gaming service Stadia, but getting it to work on iOS14 requires workarounds. A custom browser called Stadium changes this, by making the process a lot more straightforward.
Redditor u/zmknox made the Stadium custom browser. It runs in full screen, so that no UI elements get in the way of the game. It also lets users set a custom user agent, which tricks Stadia into working. It also works with almost any controller that is compatible with iOS devices. That said, 9to5Google reports that it doesn’t recognise which specific controller you’re using. And u/zmknox says that the Stadia Controller itself also doesn’t work properly either.
For those who are into cloud gaming, and are very particular about using iOS to do it, this is probably the way to go for now. At least, until official support becomes a thing. Though it also remains to be seen if Stadium will remain up for long enough for that to happen, or will it be taken down before that.
As interesting as Stadium is though, it’s not something that we can fully make use of. For one, Google Stadia isn’t officially available here. And even if it was, the user experience for it has been mixed at best anyway, nevermind its business model.
