Tekken 7 has announced back in July that it will get a Season 4. And at the end of the trailer, we got to see a glimpse of a character that will be added. To the surprise of no Tekken fan, the character is Kunimitsu, as confirmed by Bandai Namco in a new trailer.
Technically speaking, this character should probably be addressed as Kunimitsu II. But despite being the second generation of the character, she is in every other sense of the word the same character fans remember from the older games. She sports mostly the same moves, a familiar, if modified costume, and the same fox mask.
And of course, she inherits the desire to steal the Manji clan’s sword Yoshimitsu, wielded by the clan leader who adopts the sword’s name. Her trailer also shows that there will be at least one more character, and one more stage.
As to when they will actually be added to Tekken 7 as part of season 4, Bandai Namco has yet to announce an exact date. The trailer says fall 2020 for Kunimitsu and her Vermillion Gates stage, and early Spring 2021 for the second set. At the very least, we can expect to see her getting added to the game in the next three months.
