Pinterest has now added two new features called the Story Pins and Creator Profile. The Story Pins feature is Pinterest’s version of Stories that is found on other social media apps. Creator Profile, on the other hand, is a feature that allows content creators to highlight their work.
The Story Pins feature will allow users to post their photos and videos vertically with overlaid text and voice-over narration. Pinterest’s version of stories is an exact representation of how it works on Instagram. However, the difference here is Story Pins will not expire after 24 hours, allowing videos to last longer and gain more recognition from other Pinterest users at the same time.
Similarly, the creator profiles feature will work hand in hand with Story Pins by allowing content creators to highlight their craft on Pinterest. With this, other Pinterest users following the content creator will be able to post a comment and react to their Story Pins. Clearly, it shows how Pinterest is working to catch up with other social media platforms in the market right now.
Currently, the Story Pins and Creator Profile feature is only available to content creators on the Pinterest platform, meaning regular users will not have this feature available for them at the moment. However, it could just be a matter of time until the company decides to make this feature available for all users.
