Update (24 September 3:10PM): The PSN servers are back online and all service has been restored to normal. However, we’re still waiting for Sony’s response over what caused the outage in the first place.
Original story below:
Sony’s PlayStation Network (PSN) servers are currently experiencing an outage, with all of its networks and servers seemingly out for the count. A quick visit to the service’s official web page will instantly greet account holders with the appropriate statement that all related services – account, gaming and social PS Store and Music access – are inaccessible.
At the time of writing, the page says that Sony’s engineers are trying to determine the cause of the outage, and no official statement has been released by the company over the issue, yet. We’ve also reached out to Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), but have yet to receive a comment.
