Back when Sony first revealed the PlayStation 5, we pretty much expected it to be a very large console. You’ve probably seen a few estimated size comparisons yourself, showing the next-gen Sony console towering over its predecessors and competition. Now, the official measurements of the console are out, showing just what sort of behemoth we’ll be dealing with.
Images of the PS5 being measured came by way of the Taiwanese National Communications Commission. The commission has published a number of images showing the standard PS5 laying flat, from pretty much all angles.
For context, the exact measurements of the PS5 is 390 x 260 x 104 mm, according to figures by Sony. While having the numbers to work with is one thing, actually seeing the console being measured gives a more accurate perspective of its sheer size.
If you don’t have a lot of space to work with at home, you may need to start planning where you want to squeeze the PS5 into. As you’d expect it’s not just about the size of the console, but also its irregular design.
But at any rate, we’ve no word yet on what its price will be like. Based on Sony’s previous announcement, we should have the console on our shores on 19 November.
