Facebook earlier this week announced a new feature called Watch Together for its Messenger app. Through the new functionality, Facebook users can now watch videos with another friend in real-time through the instant message app.
To make use of the new feature, users will first need to either create a Messenger Room or start a normal Messenger video call. Once they get connected with friends, the Watch Together option will then be activated and can be found by swiping up the menu list.
After that, there will be a list of videos that users can choose to watch with their Messenger friends. In selected markets, some of these videos even include Facebook Watch original contents as well as TV series, movies, live sports, and music videos on top of contents that are generated by users themselves.
The Watch Together feature also comes with a search bar, so that users can look for specific contents to watch. According to Facebook, the feature supports up to eight participants at one-go through normal Messenger video calls while on Messenger Room, it can go up to 50 people.
This time around, Facebook has decided to roll-out this feature to all Messenger users throughout the world. Available now on the Messenger app for iOS and Android, just make sure that you have the latest version in your device to start using the Watch Together feature.
