Facebook has announced that it is implementing a new section into its app called Campus. In a way, the new feature felt like a reincarnation of the original Facebook which was a social network for college and high school students.
As for the 2020’s Facebook Campus, the new section is meant to allow college students to interact better with their fellow college mates. Other than that, it also allows students to stay updated with the latest happenings through campus-specific News Feed, and join various groups or events via the Campus Chats section.
To access the new section, students will need to create a Campus profile by including their college email and graduation year. They can then include other optional information such as major of study, classes, and hometown.
Additionally, it is also worth noting that students who already have a regular Facebook account will have their regular profile information and cover photos directly transferred to their Campus profile as well. However, students will be able to alter the information to suit rightful requirements pertaining to their educational background.
At this moment, the new Facebook Campus feature is only made available for students within selected colleges in the United States. We’ll keep you posted once Facebook decides to expand the feature to Malaysia.
