The Xbox Series S leak yesterday essentially confirmed the existence of the console. And following that was basically an official reveal by Microsoft itself. The company has since put up a new reveal trailer on YouTube, which comes with an exact release date. This basically also confirms the release date for the Xbox Series X as well.
Of course, other things in the trailer we’ve already seen from the leaks. In fact, the trailer is exactly the same as the one that the WalkingCat shared on Twitter. So there’s the inclusion of the size comparison between the two consoles, the 120fps at 1440p performance of the Series S, and its 512GB SSD.
What was in the leaked trailer and not in the official one is the price of the Xbox Series S, which was US$299 (~RM1247). On the flip side, this new trailer doesn’t have the price, but it has instead the release date. And it may very well be the release date for the Xbox Series S as well as the Xbox Series X.
And with the trailer out, we now know that Microsoft intends to release its new consoles on 10 November. It’s a little later than the 6 November date that found on the Xbox controller we saw before, but it’s barely a week away. Now the ball really is on Sony’s court as to when it plans to release the PlayStation 5. Rumours currently point to 13 November, the same week as this new Xbox release date.
