Every now and again, you’ll see gaming peripheral brand Razer announce non-peripheral items. Now, there’s something called the Razer Respawn By 5, following last year’s Respawn energy drink.
As you can tell by the name, Respawn By 5 is made in cooperation with 5 Gum. You’ve probably heard of the name before, as it’s a sub brand of Wrigley. And it was made as an alternative to the energy drink. According to The Verge, the company wanted something that can “be consumed at any time of the day or night to keep gamers focused, but not continuously affect once the game was over”.
Ingredients of the Razer Respawn By 5 include Vitamin B and caffeine from green tea extract. But ultimately, since it’s still caffeine, it should still have the same aftereffects, regardless of whether it came from the energy drink or the chewing gum.
In terms of flavours, the Razer Respawn By 5 has three – cool mint, tropical punch, and pomegranate watermelon. They all come in 15-stick packs, which are priced at US$2.99 (~RM12.50). It’s also available in 10-pack sets for US$27.99 (~RM117). Though, just like the energy drink from last year, this looks to be something that is exclusive to the US.
