A wide variety of Black Panther comics are now available free of charge on Comixology, as pointed out by several sources on Twitter and Reddit. The promotion came as a surprise to many, as it was rolled without any prior announcement by the cloud-based comic book distribution platform.
Based on what is offered on the Comixology website, the list of comics available for free include a slew of single issues, and specific Black Panther related story arc collections such as Back To Africa, Civil War, Secret Invasion and so on. Do keep in mind that you’re required to have an account with the service in order to claim these digital comics.
Without a doubt, the move is certainly intended to be a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, who played the silver screen adaptation of Marvel’s Black Panther aka T’Challa – the king of fictional African nation Wakanda. The actor had battled colon cancer for four years, and sadly passed away on 28 August at only 43 years of age.
Comixology did not specify when this promotion is expected to end. Regardless, this is a perfect opportunity for new and existing fans alike to collect and discover more comics based on the beloved Black Panther franchise by Marvel.
