Instagram Stories have begun appearing on the Facebook feed of some users, according to Twitter user Audrey 電商人妻® (@ec_wife), who allegedly made the discovery. The feature is reportedly being tested by the Facebook team and will combine feeds from the two social media platforms and eliminate the need to switch between each other.
Existence of the new implementation was further confirmed by social media consultant Matt Navara, who contacted the Facebook team directly. The team stated that it was currently running a limited test for now and users will need to have both Facebook and Instagram linked for it to work. Alternatively, users who do not wish to have Instagram stories displayed on Facebook could also choose to disable the feature.
Over the past few months, Instagram users may have noticed how both platforms are slowly working towards merging most of its features. One notable change, in particular, would be the notification to link messaging chats with Facebook recently.
While Facebook is looking to link more of its features together with Instagram, the social network still doesn’t have an official launch date. For some, the integration of both Instagram and Facebook feature may garner mixed reactions. We’ll just have to wait and see.
