Netflix has announced that it is offering select content from its library of TV shows and movies to all users, completely free of charge. The company noted that users will not be required to sign up for the service in order to enjoy the content directly from its website.
With the ever growing number of rival video streaming services now available in the market, it is easy to see why the company is resulting in such approaches to attract new subscribers. Prior to this, Netflix offered a 30-day trial to users – with the option to cancel the subscription at any time. However, users are still required to register to the service and provide their payment details in order to sample its content.
This time around, the company is offering a variety of platform exclusive movies, documentaries and TV shows, as a way to give potential subscribers a taste of what to expect from the streaming service. The titles included in the list of free streaming content include Bird Box, Murder Mystery, Our Planet, Stranger Things, and more. However, the TV shows offered in this trial are only limited to their first episodes.
The free movies, documentaries and TV shows are only available via the service’s official website, which is accessible by using a computer or Android device. Netflix noted that the content is not available through its mobile application, and is not supported on iOS browsers.
