GoPro has recently introduced a new live streaming service on its website. This would allow its users to broadcast their outdoor activities from their action cameras directly on the platform.
However, the company noted that this new service is only exclusive to GoPro’s premium subscribers, and will allow about 400,000 users to stream directly from the platform. Prior to the introduction of GoPro’s own broadcasting service, users have been live streaming their content to third party platforms such as Twitch and YouTube.
Due to the service being limited to premium users, GoPro explained that all live streaming content will not be publicly accessible. That said, users are allowed to generate a private link to their live broadcast and share it with friends or family members who are non-subscribers.
In addition, the company also released a new firmware update for its GoPro Hero 8 Black, Hero 7 Black, and Max action cameras which adds improved stabilisation via HyperSmooth 2.0, as well as live-streaming and webcam functionalities. On a separate note, GoPro’s premium subscription is available via its website at USD4.99 (~RM20) a month or USD49.99 (~RM204) annually.
