Pokemon Go has made location-based mobile games a thing where its predecessor Ingress failed. Now, there’s even one for The Witcher, called Monster Slayer. But rather than being made by Niantic, this one is being done by CD Projekt itself. Specifically, the game is being made by Spokko. It’s the studio that CD Projekt set up back in 2018 specifically to work on mobile games.
While set in the same Witcher universe, The Witcher: Monster Slayer takes place long before Geralt of Rivia’s time. Not much details has been shared regarding its gameplay, but it looks like it will play a lot like other games of its type. You’ll have to train and equip your character, the latter will involve some crafting of potions, bombs and other items.

Killing of monsters also leads to collecting their heads as trophies. Spokko will also be sprinkling in some story elements into The Witcher: Monster Slayer as well, to make your Witcher adventure a more compelling one.
Beyond that, details are pretty light at the moment. There’s no release date for the game either. If you want to stay up to date with the game’s development progress, you can sign up for the newsletter from its website, linked below.
