DJI has officially launched its new smartphone gimbal, the Osmo Mobile 4. The device offers a variety of improvements and new features over its predecessor, including a new magnetic mounting system for attaching a user’s smartphone.
We’ve pretty much detailed most of the new DJI gimbal’s features in our report yesterday, thanks to a major leak by Roland Quandt of WinFuture. To recap, the Osmo Mobile 4 allows users to mount their phones via magnetic ring holder attachment or mounting bracket, has a 2,450mAh battery that is claimed to last around 15-hours, provides 3-axis stabilisation, and is foldable to a more compact size for storage.
Features-wise, the companion app for the DJI Osmo Mobile 4 includes ActiveTrack 3.0 which allows for automated subject tracking, Gesture Control support, as well as a slew of shooting modes including DynamicZoom, Timelapse, Motionlapse, Hyperlapse, Sports Mode and more. According to DJI, the new gimbal will come with the aforementioned ring holder and bracket attachment for smartphones, a carrying case, tripod, USB-C cable and wrist strap.
Those eager to own the Osmo Mobile 4 will be glad to know that local retailers ShaShinki and March have listed the new DJI gimbal on their respective online stores, priced at RM599. The former appears to already have it in stock, while the latter have listed that the gimbal will arrive on 1 September 2020.
