Real-time strategy (RTS) fans, rejoice. Feral Interactive, the UK-based video game publisher recently announced that it will be porting Company of Heroes over to both the iPhone and Android devices. The studio says that it is working on bringing the game over to the two mobile ecosystems as early as next month.
For the record, this isn’t the first time Feral Interactive has ported the critically acclaimed PC RTS over to the mobile realm. Prior to this, the studio first brought the game over to the iPad earlier this year. The game is basically a carbon copy of the original game, right down the game’s main campaign. The use of touch-based controls being the primary difference between the PC and iPad versions.
The game will be available from 10 September onwards and will be purchasable via the respective Apple App Store and Google Play for Android devices. You’ll have to make a one-off purchase of US$13.99 (~RM59) for it. There is a bit of good news though; if you already own the game on the iPad, you’ll be able to install the game on your iPhone at no additional cost at launch.
Company of Heroes first launched back in 2006 for the PC. The game’s single-player story follows the campaign of two companies of US soldiers during the invasion of Normandy in the European theatre of World War II. Reception for the game was very positive overall, and even spanned two expansions and a sequel.
