The Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit series has always been special, simply because you get to play as the police. The latest entry came in 10 years ago, back in 2010. And it looks like a remaster for it is coming at the end of this year.
Despite Series publisher Electronic Arts not having made an announcement yet, the title made an appearance on Amazon UK. The listing has since been removed, but while it was up it included a price of GBP34.99 (~RM193). A date of 13 November 2020 was also attached to the now-removed listing.
On one hand, many Need for Speed games have launched in the month of November. So it’s not exactly surprising for a remaster to also be released within this window. But on the other, it’s odd that publisher EA will keep quiet about such a thing. If the company was planning a surprise announcement sometime down the line, this leak has just spoiled the surprise.
At any rate, we’ll have to wait a little longer for EA to confirm that a remaster for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is indeed on the way. The release window also coincides with the release window of next generation consoles, so we’ll see if there will be versions for them as well as current-gen machines.
