As previously reported, the new Sony A7S III full-frame mirrorless camera has been confirmed to be released locally sometime in October. Although Sony Malaysia has yet to announce its pricing, a pre-order listing for the camera on a local retailer’s website has also revealed its expected price.
According to a report by Amanz, KLDSLR is offering the A7S III at the price of RM16,599 for body-only, which also includes free gifts such as an extra NP-FZ100 battery and a 64GB UHS-II SDXC memory card. The retailer is also presenting options to bundle the camera along with two different lenses; a Sony FE 24mm f/1.4 GM lens at RM21,699, or a Sony SEL FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM at RM24,999. Another local retailer, YL Camera, has listed the new camera and its bundles at the same prices.
The device was globally unveiled in late July, and is the latest to grace its A7S line of mirrorless cameras. It features a 12MP full-frame sensor, and is capable of shooting 4K video at 120p. The Sony A7S III also includes an in-body image stabilisation (IBIS) system, phase detect autofocus, and a new internal-heat dissipating mechanism. On its back is a fully articulating flip-out LCD touchscreen, and also features an improved and redesigned user interface for navigation.
At this time, several local retailers including the aforementioned KLDSLR and YL Camera, as well as ShaShinKi have opened their pre-orders for the camera. Amanz’ report added that Sony’s own pre-order campaign for the A7S III will be available sometime soon.
