There is a huge war going on right now between Epic Games and Apple. It all begins when the game company rolled up the Epic direct payment for mobile which made Apple very unhappy and has subsequently removed Fortnite from the iOS App Store
Epic then retaliated by immediately releasing a 1984 spoof video and has also filed a lawsuit against Apple. As it turns out, Google is not happy about Epic’s new direct payment method as well and claimed that the game company has violated its policy through a statement that it sent to The Verge.
Although the removal took place slightly later than Apple, Fortnite is now no longer available from Google Play. Then again, Android users can easily download the game directly from Epic. If you are using Samsung devices, you can also choose to obtain Fortnite via through Samsung Galaxy Store.
Maybe that is why the game company did not prepare any special video or lawsuit for Google (for now). Still, Epic has once again made it clear that the outfit is not happy at the amount of fee that Apple and Google demand from developers but it remains to be seen if its new #FreeFortnite campaign can force both giants to change their policies.
