The Epic Games Store’ timed exclusivity hold on Control is about to expire. This will happen on 27 August, and when it does, the game will be making its way to Steam. And it looks like it will also have an Ultimate Edition coming alongside it.
As the name suggests, Control Ultimate Edition comes with the base game and both expansions, The Foundation and Awe. If you’re not sure if this is the kind of game for you, maybe its winning the title of Best Art Direction at The Game Awards 2019 may help you decide.
Oddly enough, Steam is the earliest platform to get Control Ultimate Edition. In fact, it is already listed on the digital storefront. The Epic Games Store, which the game was exclusive to on PC for the past year, will only be getting it on 10 September, two weeks after Steam.
The same goes for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game. But for what it’s worth, 505 Games is offering free upgrades for next generation consoles for those who buy the Ultimate Edition on current-gen machines. Physical copies for the console versions will also be available later than the digital ones.
At any rate, now’s a good time to add it to your Steam wish list, assuming you haven’t already played it. There’s no option to pre-order it, which is probably a good thing.
