These days, special edition PC peripherals are getting more and more common. Less so are internal components, like graphic cards. But it looks like Intel has a couple of special edition CPUs, which are very novel in comparison. These are the Avengers Edition 10th gen CPUs, tying in with the upcoming game by Crystal Dynamics.
The revelation came via Twitter user @TUM_APISAK, who showed a screenshot of such a CPU being sold. The box features a pixel art rendition of the game, being sold on Vietnamese retail site HanoiComputer. The CPU itself is an Intel Core i9-10900K, with the same rated clock speed as the standard version. At the time of writing, it looks like the HanoiComputer page has been taken down.

Another Twitter user, @momomo_us, shared an image of four Intel CPUs with the KA suffix. These are the Intel Core i5-10600KA, Core i7-10700KA and Core i9-10850KA, as well as the aforementioned Core i9-10900KA. These retail listings are labelled as special editions. If the tweet by @TUM_APISAK is any indication, the A in KA would stand for Avengers to mark the special edition nature of the chips.

And they’re the real deal, according to a statement given to PCGamesN. In it, the company says, “Working with Intel as the exclusive CPU partner, the new Marvel’s Avengers game has been optimised to run on Intel Core processors to deliver a richer, more immersive gameplay experience”. So if you’re a massive fan, then it may be worth keeping an eye out for, even if they’re no different from their standard iterations.
