Just like Sony, Microsoft will be launching its next-generation console, the Xbox Series X towards the end of this year. However, it has been rumoured for quite some time that the company will also be launching a second model which will be slightly less powerful and likely to carry a lower price tag.
Early information suggests that this console is currently being codenamed as Lockhart and signs of its existence has been found on leaked documents as well as Xbox One’s operating system. However, the packaging for an Xbox Series X controller has now confirmed that the name for the new console is the Xbox Series S:
Now, this particular controller which is draped in all-white colour way has not even been officially announced by Microsoft. Nevertheless, Twitter user Zak S has managed to purchase it, according to the report by The Verge.
Another report by Windows Central featured a separate set of images of the packaging which was posted by Twitter user Timdog and seems to suggest that the controller may have made its way into the market despite its unofficial status. If that is the case, we will not be surprised if Microsoft unveils the Xbox Series S very soon and just maybe, this leak could accelerate things further.
