Rocksteady Studios, the developer of the highly acclaimed Batman: Arkham series, has confirmed that it is developing a new video game based on DC’s Suicide Squad. The studio has released a teaser image of the game on its official Twitter page, which highlighted Superman as the anti-hero group’s main target.
According to a report by Eurogamer, rumours of the game have begun circulating in June when it was discovered that publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have registered domains such as ‘SuicideSquadKillTheJusticeLeague.com’ and ‘SuicideSquadGame.com’. Sources also told the site that Rocksteady was involved in its development, and the game is set to be unveiled during the DC Fandome event later this month.

Sure enough, the latest teaser has confirmed these speculations and this would also see the studio’s return after four years of silence. The last game developed by Rocksteady was Batman: Arkham VR for the PS4 in 2016, and its last major release was Batman: Arkham Knight in 2015.
Apart from the teaser image showcasing Superman (or maybe his doppelganger Bizarro) as the team’s primary target, not much is known about the new Suicide Squad game. It remains to be seen if the game will feature new gameplay mechanics or an evolution of the Arkham series’ design. It is also a possibility that the game is planned to be released on current and next-gen video game consoles including the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, as well as PC.
Needless to say, expectations will be high.
