If you follow the new Hitman series, you’re probably anticipating the release of the third game next year. During the recent State of Play stream by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the company announced that it will be available on both the PS4 and PS5. The game will also come with a special treat – the ability to play in VR.
SIE says that you can play the whole game in VR, much like Resident Evil 7 allowed you to. Not only will you be able to do it for Hitman 3, but also the first two games. If you own the other two titles, you can essentially import them to the latest entry, giving the game over 20 locations in total.
This makes Hitman 3 one of the few games for PlayStation that you can play entirely in VR. Most other games feature special VR-specific missions, but did not allow you to play the whole game that way. Ace Combat 7 immediately comes to mind. The only notable exception is, as mentioned, Resident Evil 7, which was released back in 2017.
This is good news not only for those who are fans of the Hitman series, but also VR games. That being said, SIE did not specify if this is something that can be done with consoles of both generations, or if this is specifically a feature for the next generation machine.
