Over the past several months, we’ve read details about Intel’s upcoming 11th generation Tiger Lake mobile CPU, both in its specs and integrated GPU’s performance. Now it appears that the semiconductor company has set an official launch date for its product, assuming the information is actually legitimate.
According to a screenshot of an event calendar posted in Intel’s Investor Relations page, the brand is preparing to launch its new 11th generation mobile CPU in the month of September. Specifically, 2 September.
The event is literally titled “Tiger Lake Virtual Launch Event”, giving people – both familiar and unfamiliar – obvious insight into that day. Sadly, those who clicked the “Additional Information” link at the bottom of the event were greeted with no further details, but as it stands. There is already a fair bit known about the CPU.
So far, we know that a Core i7-1165G7 CPU could possibly be one of several CPU models that will make its debut on 2 September and that the processor’s integrated Xe graphics is more or less on par with AMD’s recently launched Ryzen 7 4800U mobile CPU.
Of course, there’s also evidence of the Tiger Lake CPU’s integrated Xe graphics capable of running EA’s Battlefield V (BFV) at the game’s second-highest graphics preset. Both comfortably and consistently at Full HD resolution.
On that note, we’ll just have to wait until 2 September to see what Intel has in store for us.
