In addition to announcing Pixel 4a earlier this week, Google has also teased a new lineup of 5G capable smartphone which is the first for the Pixel series. They will come in the form of Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 which are set to be released in selected markets later this year.
Google also stated that Pixel 4a 5G will have a starting price of USD 499 (~RM 2106). As a comparison, the non-5G variant of Pixel 4a is priced significantly lower at USD 349 (~RM 1473).
However, the company has somehow conveniently left the pricing of Pixel 5 out of its official announcement. Given its likely status as the next flagship Pixel phone, Pixel 5 is likely to costs much higher than Pixel 4a.
Just to refresh your memory, last year’s Pixel 4 was released with a hefty launch price tag of USD 799 (~RM 3373). On another hand, there is also the Pixel 4XL which has a starting price of USD 899 (~RM 3795).
Meanwhile, no other information was revealed by Google in its announcement this week. This means we have to wait until the company decides to talk more about its new 5G phones as we get closer to their official launch in the coming months.
