Leaks of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy devices are expected to arrive in the masses, especially when the company’s Galaxy Unpacked event is just around the corner. Out of the many leaked details that are circulating around the web, one particular bit of information piqued our interest: the ability to use the Galaxy Buds Live as lapel mics for video recordings.
Industry leakster WalkingCat (aka h0x0d) shared what appears to be a snippet of a promotional vignette for the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, which allegedly detailed its video recording capabilities. On top of listing the phone’s ability to record 8K videos and other features, the vignette also revealed that the Note 20 Ultra can utilise the Galaxy Buds Live as remote microphones in Pro Video Mode.

Although exactly how this combination would function is not explained, and it is speculated that audio can be received remotely via the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live ala wireless Lavalier mics during recording. If this leak is accurate, this new feature would greatly benefit content creators such as vloggers in terms of video production. It is also unknown if this combination is only limited between these two devices.
Regardless, we’ll find out whether this supposedly new feature is legitimate or not soon enough. The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series and Galaxy Buds Live, as well as other devices from the brand will be fully unveiled during the Galaxy Unpacked event this week on 5 August 2020.
