At this stage, it’s a widely known fact that Google will be livestreaming the launch of the Pixel 4a, the mid-range variant in its Pixel lineup. On that note, a recent leak seems to have laid bare what could be the official specifications of the phone.
The leak was posted on Twitter via Ishan Agarwal (@ishanagarwal24) and is, surprisingly, followed by a couple of renders that look true to form, plus its retail value. According to Agarwal, the Pixel 4a will ship out with a Snapdragon 730G SoC, 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage capacity, a 5.81-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a punch hole, and a 3140mAh battery to keep it running.
Agarwal’s tweet also points to a 5G variant of the Pixel 4a, although that model will supposedly be launching sometime during fall this year. Price-wise, the non-5G version of the phone will supposedly retail for US$349 (~RM1479), while the 5G variant will cost US$499 (~RM2115) at launch.

To that end, and now with virtually little to hide, the search engine seems to have nearly abandoned all effort in keeping the Pixel 4a a secret. So much so that the company has now posted a “Lorem ipsum” page on its Store, with the headline “The Google Phone” sitting at the top and spaced out with black bars that we guess will be revealed or replaced entirely after tomorrow’s launch event.
Not only that, but its official Made By Google page recently posted two “The Google Phone” images with the same blocks in between, albeit in the search engine’s more traditional colours instead of black.
In any case, we’ll just have to wait until tomorrow to see the full picture. Also, and as always, it’s unlikely that the phone will even come to our shores.
