Earlier this week, OnePlus has officially unveiled its new mid-ranger 5G phone, the OnePlus Nord. Prior to the launch, the company has already revealed its intention to bring the phone over to Malaysia although no firm launch date for our market has been announced.
Nevertheless, things are already in motion. After setting up a new official store on Shopee for the release of Nord in Malaysia, the company will be releasing a limited number of mystery boxes through the store next month.
According to the description of the mystery box’s Shopee listing, 450 sets will be made available for sale at 12 AM on 4 August. Out of these sets, two of them will carry the Nord while 10 boxes will come with the equally new OnePlus Buds.
On another hand, an OnePlus Nord Tyvek jacket will be distributed through 15 boxes and the remaining 423 boxes are going to feature a set of OnePlus merchandise each. All of these boxes will also include a RM99 voucher that can be used for products within OnePlus Malaysia’s new Shopee store in the near future.
Pricewise, the mystery box can be obtained for RM99 which is not too bad considering what OnePlus Malaysia has put up on the line. However, given the fact there are only two Nords available inside the pool, you really got to have the lady luck shine on you brightly.
UPDATE (30/07 – 10:00 PM):
A few days after we published this news, OnePlus Malaysia’s representative made a stop at our HQ and handed us the actual OnePlus Nord mystery box that it will release on 4 August.
The representative claimed that this box was randomly picked for us, so the actual content is not known to any of us. Naturally, we decided to try our luck to see if we lucky enough to get a review unit of OnePlus Nord or OnePlus Buds ahead of their launch in Malaysia.
So, this is how it went down:
Yup, no luck for us. Well, we hope that you are much luckier than us on 4 August if you planning to get your hands on the OnePlus Nord mystery box yourself.
