Yesterday, Xiaomi Malaysia announced that the Mi Band 5 will be made available today, 24 July. The company has also finally revealed the price of RM169 for the wearable. But it looks like the availability of the smartband is limited to online storefronts for now.
The Mi Band 5 is available from the official Xiaomi Stores on both Shopee and Lazada. And from here we get the confirmed specs for the local variants of the smartband. To quickly recap, the Mi Band 5 comes with a 1/.1-inch 126 x 294 AMOLED display, 512KB of RAM, 16MB of internal storage, and a 125mAh battery which lasts up to 14 days.
Other items on the spec sheet include water resistance of up to 50m, and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. This allows it to be used with devices running Android 5.0 and newer, as well as iOS 10 and newer.
As mentioned, the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 is priced at RM169. With only one price, this means that we’re not getting the NFC variant. Naturally, neither are any of the special tie-ins. If you prefer to not get it online, you will be able to find the smartband on shelves starting next week, on 27 July.
