HP has launched not one, but two new entries to their Envy line-up of laptops. Sitting nicely in between the brand’s other mobile PC offerings such as the Pavilion and Spectre, the Envy series itself is no slouch in terms of delivering a stalwart experience and performance.
In its 2020 release, the new HP Envy series comes in two versions; the Envy 13 and Envy 15. Although different in size, both models pack impressive hardware and features that are ideal for creators and casual users alike.
How impressive? Here’s what you need to know:
High performance.
Content creation such as graphic design, video editing and animation will require a lot from a computer, let alone a laptop. Fortunately, the HP Envy series has got this base covered.
Both laptops feature up to Intel Core i7 in terms of processing power, along with Intel Iris Plus Graphics technology for an added boost. On top of that, they are also powered by NVIDIA-based graphic cards to cope with higher loads of graphics acceleration for both work and play. Specifically, the Envy 13 is equipped with an NVIDIA MX350 and the Envy 15 features a GeForce GTX1660ti with Max Q design.
Memory-wise; the former features a RAM capacity of 16GB DDR4-2666 and 1TB PCIe NVMe storage, whereas the latter has up to 32GB DDR4-2933 and 2TB PCIe NVMe.
Very cool. Literally too.
The most common worry especially regarding laptops is its internal cooling. No matter how powerful a laptop is, an inefficient cooling system can be very damaging to your device as energy heavy programs cause the hardware to heat up. You can put your mind to rest knowing that the 2020 HP Envy laptops are equipped to handle heavier loads, even in its compact and slim design.
Unique to the Envy 15 is a vapour chamber cooling system with 12-volt fan to ensure the laptop and its GTX 1660ti GPU will run at an optimal temperature, whether you’re doing creative work or even gaming. Also included is an internal IR thermal sensor to keep track of the temperature of the laptops at all times.
Top-of-the-line displays.
A laptop to handle both work and casual use is only complete with a display that is on par with its excellent performance. As their names suggest, the HP Envy 13 sports a 13.3-inch diagonal FHD display while the HP Envy 15 offers a 15.6-inch variation with touchscreen capability. Both screens feature IPS anti-glare technology, which offers a wide viewing angle and crisp visuals. Thanks to the micro edge approach on both displays, you can expect super-thin bezels for a larger and immersive visual experience.
Charges up in no time.
Also accompanying the HP Envy series’ notable hardware is a powerful battery that can offer up to 16.5 hours of usage. This would allow you to complete more tasks and watch videos on streaming services for a very significant amount of time without having to worry about charging.
And when the time eventually comes, you need not worry about getting either HP Envy laptops charged. Both devices come with HP Fast Charging technology which enables the battery to be topped up at 50% in approximately 45 minutes for the powerful Envy 15, and 50% in just 30 minutes for the more compact Envy 13! Just hook up your HP Envy laptop to charge while you get ready for work or going out, and it’ll have plenty of power when you’re on the go.
Security and other features.
In this day and age where almost anything is possible via the internet, security and privacy play very important roles. HP ensures that Envy laptop users have nothing to worry about thanks to the security features thoughtfully added to the Envy laptops.
You won’t have to deal with messy tape to cover the Envy’s webcam, as the laptop features an unhackable physical camera shutter that is impenetrable to online attacks. Furthermore, a dedicated microphone mute button is also present on the keyboard, enabling you to switch off your microphone with one touch – ensuring that no one is listening to your conversations when you least expect it.
To keep you safe as you browse the world wide web is the inclusion a 30-day trial of ExpressVPN, which will help protect your important personal and crucial information from the likes of hackers and such. Finally, to take personalisation even further, the HP Envy laptops also feature a fingerprint reader to ensure that only you can access the device.
To make sure that you’re immediately good to go in terms of content creation when you get your hands on a HP Envy laptop, HP has included pre-installed copies of Microsoft Office Home and Student 2019 worth RM529 – completely free of charge.
Happy little accidents.
The HP Envy laptops and the features included with them are more than capable of keeping your privacy secured. But what about other worries, especially those that affect the devices physically?
With the purchase of the 2020 Envy laptops, HP will also include 2 years Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) coverage support for your peace of mind. The protection covers instances such as drops, spills, power surges, damaged or broken LCD displays and even parts – ensuring that you won’t have to splurge out any expenses to replace your HP device.
Time for a change.
The HP Envy 13 and Envy 15 may just be laptops in terms of appearance, but they both pack enough power and performance to push higher limits in terms of productivity as well as leisure use. On top of that, both devices are also thoughtfully designed to be highly ergonomic and compact, without sacrificing important factors such as onboard cooling and display size.
