OnePlus has already confirmed the launch date of its upcoming mid-range smartphone, the OnePlus Nord, and that it will also be launching its also pair of TWS earbuds alongside the phone. Recently, alleged product images of the earbuds had managed to find their way online, giving us a better look at the audio accessory.
Images of the OnePlus Buds were discovered by 9to5Google via a deep dive into the latest OnePlus 8 update. According to the Android-centric site, the update contained an entire gallery of the earbuds and showcases the audio accessory in the three colour options: white, black, and Blue.
Design-wise, the OnePlus Buds’ casing takes on a rounded design and seems to have a matte design. As for the earbuds themselves, OnePlus clearly drew inspiration from Apple’s Airpods, what with the earbuds’ elongated neck and ear tips.
Additionally, 9to5Google’s discovery also unearthed some illustrations depicting how the earbuds can be paired. Both through the onboard touch controls in the earbuds and fast-pairing via NFC. On top of that, the update also makes a direct mention of the OnePlus Buds supporting Dolby Atmos, which seems par for the course. Given that OnePlus’ current and previous flagship all supported the feature.
As to how it sounds, we won’t know until we actually get a pair to test out. That said, the launch of the OnePlus Nord is just a day away, so it’s clear that we’ll hear more on the two products then.
