If you’re a fan of Runic Games’ Torchlight IP, you may be happy to know that the game is currently available for free on the Epic Games Store. Clearly, the game is part of Epic Games’ free offering, which occurs on a monthly basis and usually includes a couple more titles.
For the uninitiated, Torchlight 2 is the second instalment of the Torchlight series. The game is played in a Diablo-style layout and also features nearly identical mechanics to Blizzard’s titular IP, and with good reason: Runic Games was founded in 2008 by Max Schaefer and Erich Schaefer, the co-founders of Blizzard North and the creators of the critically acclaimed Diablo series.
Sadly, Runic Games closed its doors back in 2017, after it was bought out by the Chinese game company Perfect World. In any case, Torchlight 2 will be up for grabs to add to your Epic Games Store library from now until 23 July next week. After that, you’ll have to pay US$8.91 (~RM38) to own the game.
