It has been more than a month since Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin announced the ePENJANA initiative which will provide free RM 50 e-wallet credit to 15 million Malaysians. However, the government has not yet provided in-depth details regarding the initiative aside from including MySejahtera app as the requirement to receive the free credit.
Among those details include the actual timeline of the credit distribution although earlier this week, Finance Minister, Tengku Zafrul Aziz has briefly addressed it at a media Q&A during his work visit to TEKUN Nasional. According to a report by Berita Harian, Minister Zafrul stated that the ePENJANA credit will be distributed at the end of this month.
Aside from that, the minister didn’t provide any additional information though. Nevertheless, we take it as a sign that the full details regarding ePENJANA will finally be announced by the government anytime soon.
Meanwhile, the government also has not yet released the list of ePENJANA official e-wallet partners. Then again, we predict that the list will likely include companies that were involved in the previous E-Tunai Rakyat program given their capabilities and consumer reach. So, stay tuned as we will keep you posted once we received more information.
