LEGO fans who are looking forward to owning the Nintendo NES set that we’ve reported yesterday will be delighted to know that it will be available locally soon. The company has announced that the set is slated to arrive in Malaysia next month and is priced at RM949.90.
The LEGO Nintendo NES set was previously teased on the company’s social media accounts last weekend, and leaked images of its packaging surfaced online not long after the announcement. Now that the set is official, we now have a better look at what it looks like and other features it has to offer to fans of both LEGO and Nintendo.
The new NES building kit will include a controller with a connecting cable and plug, as well as an opening slot for the included gaming cartridge. Along with the console’s replica is a buildable retro TV that features a flat 8-bit figure of Mario on its interactive scrolling screen.
And yes, you could actually “play” this version of Super Mario Bros by using the crank that is located on the right side of the TV. As an added touch, you could also scan an action-included brick with the Mario figure from the LEGO Super Mario Starter Course set to see it react to on-screen enemies, obstacles and power-ups.
The LEGO Nintendo NES set will be released in Malaysia on 1 August 2020, directly from LEGO retail stores, certified retailers and LEGOLAND Malaysia.
