The last we saw of a smartphone model from the gaming firm Razer was back in 2018 with the Razer Phone 2. Since then, the company has been silent on any plans to produce a follow-up. However, a recent listing on Taobao suggests that a third phone may have or had been in development.
According to a report by XDA, a merchant had listed what appears to be a Razer Phone 3 prototype up for sale on the Chinese online shopping platform. However, the device was then delisted not long after, and it is unknown if it was purchased or forced to be taken down. Fortunately, several users managed to save images of the phone prior to that.
The photos suggest that the alleged Razer Phone 3 appears somewhat similar to its predecessor in terms of design language. The differences include thinner bezels above and below its display, while on its back is a vertical triple camera setup. Not much else is known about the device, especially regarding its specifications. Additionally, the images also suggest that the phone is indeed a working model.
Whether Razer is actually working on a third successor to their smartphone series is still a mystery for now. Although the leaked prototype suggests otherwise, there is a chance that it could just be a fake.
