Today marks the 35th anniversary of the Proton Saga, Malaysia’s first national car that was released in 1985. As part of the celebration, Proton Holdings Berhad has unveiled the Saga Anniversary Edition model via a virtual launch in social media.
Based on the Proton Saga 1.3 Premium AT, the limited edition Anniversary model sports similarities in terms of specifications. As for aesthetics, what sets it apart from the former is its exclusive black colour with yellow accents for its exterior and interior. Additionally, the car also features Proton’s new N95 cabin filter that was introduced in May as part of its air conditioning system.
Do note that the promotional images of the Anniversary Edition features the car completely decked out with optional parts such as front and side skirting. These are part of the Accessories package that was introduced alongside the car, which also includes sleeker door visors, a hood insulator, trunk lid cover, and boot tray. The package is priced at RM2,035 and is compatible with the standard 2019 Proton Saga model as well.
The Proton Saga Anniversary Edition will see a limited run of only 1,100 units. Surprisingly, the car is priced at RM39,300 on the road without insurance, which is also the same price as the current Premium AT.
