Back in May, Instagram said it was testing giving users the ability to pin comments. This is in addition to letting you control who can tag or mention you. Now, the Facebook subsidiary is rolling out the feature to everyone.
The social media platform made the announcement on Twitter. The option to do so will appear alongside the existing ones, which are replying, reporting and deleting. The tweet itself is pretty light on details, as you can see below.

That being said, it looks like Instagram kept most, if not all, of the feature’s elements it was testing before. This means you can pin up to three comments to the top of your posts. Those whose comments you pinned will also be notified of the fact. This will probably help indicate to them what sort of comments you want to keep seeing in the future.
It’s not the most groundbreaking feature out there, at least for the average user. But on the flip side, it will likely be useful for those who use their Instagram accounts for professional reasons. This can be a useful tool to use if you want to highlight one particular comment in what could be a flood of other comments.
