The price of the PlayStation 5 has been the subject of fierce speculation. Its supposed price has been on Amazon a number of times, from the believable EUR499 to harder to swallow GBP599. But a recent survey suggests that this is something that not even Sony Interactive Entertainment has decided on yet.
Reddit user u/youessbee has shared a Nielsen survey that they had recently taken. This particular survey was about the price of the upcoming Sony console. One important excerpt from the survery reads “the pricing of this product (PlayStation 5) has not yet been determined”.
The survey essentially tries to measure people’s interest for the console when it is assigned a random price. The random price assigned to u/youessbee was GBP349 (~RM1865) for the standard PS5, and GBP259 (~RM1384) for the Digital Edition. It does sound too good to be true, but it reinforces the perceived price difference between the two versions of the PS5. Of course, it’s important to emphasize the “random price” part of the survey.
NotebookCheck says that Sony Interactive Entertainment will be revealing the price, and other pre-order details, of the console on 13 July. If this is true, the we’ll finally be able to stop all the speculating about the price, and indeed the game of chicken between Sony and Microsoft.
