Wi-Fi 6 standard has begun to gain traction in the industry for the past two to three years and with more devices are being equipped to support the new Wi-Fi standard, it is only natural that we start seeing more Wi-Fi 6 routers to pop up in our market. Among the latest in the list is the Huawei WiFi AX3 which will be released in Malaysia on 10 July.
The new router is powered by Huawei’s own GigaHome Hi5651T chip which carries a quad-core CPU that runs at a speed of up to 1.4GHz. The AX3 is also equipped with two dedicated power amplifiers that are designed to boost the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal alongside two more power amplifiers that are specifically meant for the 5GHz signal.
The AX3 also comes with NFC capability which allows NFC-enabled Huawei phone owners to connect to the router easily via the Huawei Share feature. Certain non-Huawei Android phone with NFC can utilize this feature as well.
Theoretically, the AX3 apparently able to deliver connection speed of up to 574Mbps on 2.4GHz frequency and 2401Mbps on 5GHz. Pricewise, the router will be available for RM 299 and consumers can pre-order it through Huawei Store Malaysia, Lazada and Shopee starting from 7 July onwards.
